Material:
PLA (polylactic acid), is a biodegradable material derived from a renewable corn starch resource. Although it resembles plastic, it meets all the eco criteria demanded in a changing world.
Why:
The straws are certified 70-100% biodegradable, compostable and recyclable. On break down it gives off CO2 by expelling carbon locked in by the plant matter when it was originally growing.
